FAQ

What monsters are in Silent Hill: Townfall?
Five recurring enemy types: Lunger (bound arms, axe-head rushes), Sorrowful (ranged cord strike plus a close grab), Fallen (plays dead then ambushes), Widows (corner ambushes and back-stabs in CEG HQ) and the Weight (the near-invincible pursuer and final boss).
Can you kill monsters in Silent Hill: Townfall?
Most regular enemies can be killed with melee or firearms, but the Weight is effectively invincible — encounters with it are built around stealth, not damage.

What lurks in St. Amelia?

Townfall’s bestiary is built around ambush and pursuit rather than arena fights. The five recurring types, per release-week guides:

Enemy Behavior How to handle it
Lunger Bound arms and an axe-like head; fast rush and headbutt — can open doors Block or counter the rush; melee and aimed shots kill it
Sorrowful A cord-like ranged strike from its chest, plus a close grab Block the ranged hit; don’t assume the grab can be blocked — keep spacing
Fallen Plays dead — motionless bodies on floors and under street lights that rise as you pass Watch for breathing or twitching; thrown objects or melee avoid spending bullets
Widows Corner ambushes and a stabbing pounce on a turned back — the Part 5 (Richard) enemy The Shotgun is the reliable answer; 30 silences earns Missing The Point Entirely, carried into NG+
The Weight Massive pursuer; near-invincible; kills on contact during stalking sections Stealth — never fight; the Flare Gun can stun it temporarily; resolved in Ch 16 “Eraser”

You may also see The Collapse referenced around the finale — treat it as a story entity rather than an everyday encounter, the same way fan lists note it separately from the five combat types.

Stealth is the rule, not the exception

Once alerted, enemies dynamically hunt through the district. The counterplay kit is distraction-based: thrown bottles and bricks, environmental radios, and car alarms all pull patrols off your route — see beginner tips. The CRTV detects threats through walls, which is how you choose stealth before the fight chooses you.

Kills have a cost

Every kill feeds the Kills counter that the ending system weighs against your Discoveries. If you want Justice, lean on stealth even when you could win the fight — the town counts.

Encounter pressure escalates by Part — the complete walkthrough maps which Parts introduce forced fights, Widow ambushes and Weight pursuits, so you know when to save ammunition and when to run.
