FAQ

How many endings does Silent Hill: Townfall have?
Five: Justice, Forever and Abandoned in a normal run — decided by Discoveries vs Kills — plus Dog and Sci-fi, which are New Game+ only.
What decides your ending in Silent Hill: Townfall?
The ratio of Discoveries (clues, documents, story finds) to Kills. More Discoveries pushes Justice; more Kills pushes Abandoned; a narrow margin lands on Forever.
What is the good ending in Silent Hill: Townfall?
Justice is the 'good' ending — earned by keeping Discoveries well ahead of Kills, which means exploring thoroughly and avoiding unnecessary combat.

How does the ending system work?

Townfall tracks two hidden counters all run long: Discoveries (clues, documents and story finds you collect) and Kills. The balance between them decides which of the three main endings plays — a classic Silent Hill “the town judges how you played” system. Roughly 20 kills are forced by the story, so the margin is built on everything optional.

Ending Requirement Trophy
Justice (“good”) Discoveries clearly outweigh Kills (~80 discoveries vs ≤50 kills is safe) For St. Amelia (Gold)
Forever (“normal”) Discoveries only slightly ahead of Kills — the borderline outcome Here To Stay (Gold)
Abandoned (“bad”) Kills outnumber Discoveries (≥60 kills is safe) Just Making Things Worse (Gold)

How do you control your ending?

  • For Justice: loot every area — the 85 Clues & Documents count as Discoveries — and sneak past optional fights.
  • For Abandoned: kill freely and skip exploration.
  • For Forever: the run’s two manual saves do the work — end of Part 4 (device in hand, before the Strange Gate) for Abandoned/Forever steering, and Chapter 15 “Trying Again” (the red crank) for the finale branch. Together they turn all three ending trophies into reloads.

The two joke endings are New Game+ exclusives — see the Dog & Sci-fi endings guide for the coin, book and keycard locations.
