What is the Weight?

The Weight is Townfall’s flagship monster — a massive humanoid bent under a huge burden it carries on its back, and the final boss of the story. It stalks Simon through dedicated pursuit sequences, and it is effectively invulnerable: if it grabs you, you die.

How do the Weight encounters work?

Encounters with the Weight are stealth gauntlets, not damage races — reviews singled out these sections as the game’s most punishing. The working rules:

• Break line of sight — use hiding spots and stay low.
• Use distractions — thrown bottles and bricks pull it off your trail; the same toolkit covered in beginner tips.
• Flare Gun as insurance — the flare can stagger large invulnerable enemies, buying seconds to relocate. See all weapons.

How do you defeat it?

The Weight is finally dealt with in Chapter 16, “Eraser”, during Part 6 (Simon) — earning the Eraser trophy. Note that the Sci-fi ending triggers early and skips this fight entirely, if you would rather route around it in New Game+.
