FAQ

How many chapters are in Silent Hill: Townfall?
The story runs across six Parts containing 17 chapters in total: Arrival, Zoe, The Patient, Clara Woods, Richard, and Simon.
Can you replay chapters in Silent Hill: Townfall?
No. There is no chapter select, and areas cannot be revisited once you leave them — collectibles can be permanently missed.
How long is Silent Hill: Townfall?
A completionist platinum run is estimated at 15–25 hours. A speedrun trophy (Fleeting Visit) asks you to finish in under 4 hours, so a critical-path run is far shorter.

How is Silent Hill: Townfall structured?

The game is divided into six Parts containing 17 chapters. Simon Ordell returns to the Scottish island town of St. Amelia in 1996, and each Part shifts the focus onto a different piece of the town’s past — and a different member of its cast.

Part Chapters Focus
1. Arrival Ch 1–4 Simon wakes on the shore and enters St. Amelia
2. Zoe Ch 5–6 Searching for Zoe; the pistol is found in Town Square
3. The Patient Ch 7–8 The Medical Centre and Dr. Glenn
4. Clara Woods Ch 9–10 onward The union town district; combat ramps up
5. Richard The man who called Simon back
6. Simon through Ch 16 “Eraser” The finale and the confrontation with the Weight

Chapter names confirmed so far include Ch 1 “Cold Open”, Ch 9 “Begin Again”, Ch 10 “Missing Parts”, Ch 15 “Trying Again”, and Ch 16 “Eraser”.

Can you backtrack or replay chapters?

No. There is no chapter select and no free roam between districts — once a Part moves on, earlier areas are gone for that run. Every one of the 138 collectibles can be missed permanently, so search each area thoroughly before triggering the next story beat.

The good news: a single well-planned run can still earn most trophies, and New Game+ adds the Axe, the Pistol-3000, and two bonus endings for a second pass.

What changes between Parts?

Each Part introduces new mechanics pressure: the early game teaches the CRTV signal-detecting loop, mid-game sections lean on stealth and distractions, and later Parts add unmissable combat encounters plus pursuit sequences against the Weight. See beginner tips for the survival fundamentals.

How do chapters tie into the endings?

Your ending is decided by Discoveries vs Kills across the whole run — the Clues and Documents you collect count as Discoveries, so thorough exploration directly pushes you toward the Justice ending. Details and thresholds are in the all endings guide.
