FAQ

What does the CRTV do in Silent Hill: Townfall?
The CRTV is a pocket television that replaces the series' radio. Tuning into unstable signals detects nearby enemies and surfaces narrative clues and hidden items.
How do you save in Silent Hill: Townfall?
You save at telephones scattered through St. Amelia. One trophy (Reject The Help) requires you to avoid phone saving after meeting Richard.

How should you use the CRTV?

The CRTV pocket television is Townfall’s signature tool — it replaces the classic Silent Hill radio. Tune into unstable signals and the screen reacts to nearby threats, story fragments, and hidden collectibles. If the signal degrades, something is close. Keep it handy in fog-dense streets and interiors rather than pulling it out only when scared.

Should you fight or sneak?

Sneak first. Enemy encounters are built around evasion — once alerted, enemies dynamically hunt Simon through the area. You have real tools for staying hidden:

  • Hiding spots — lockers and similar spots break line of sight (a trophy, Isolating Experience, asks for a 60-second hide).
  • Thrown distractions — bottles and bricks pull enemies away (Lured Off Track).
  • Environmental lures — radios (Static Distractions) and car alarms (Alarmingly Effective) can clear a patrol path without spending ammo.

Save ammunition for the encounters the game forces — later Parts include roughly 20 unavoidable kills, which also matters for your ending.

What should you do before leaving an area?

Sweep everything. There is no backtracking between Parts, so all 138 collectibles are missable. Clues and Documents also count as Discoveries — the stat that pushes you toward the Justice ending — so thorough looting is also ending insurance.

How do saving and healing work?

You save at telephones. Plan around them: the trophy Reject The Help requires finishing a stretch without phone saves after meeting Richard. Simon can also revive himself with a syringe he carries — when you go down, watch for the prompt rather than assuming a death screen.
