Why are clues and documents so important?

Two reasons. First, they are the largest slice of the 138 collectibles. Second — and uniquely — every clue and document registers as a Discovery, the counter the ending system weighs against your Kills. If you want the Justice ending without grinding, this category is the lever.

They also gate puzzles: mechanisms check that Simon has actually read the relevant clue before accepting a solution.

Where do documents hide?

Documents concentrate in the locations the story walks you through — the Pharmacy and Video Star in the Shorefront District, the Shorefront Family Clinic, the Medical Centre, the Clara Woods estates and Hospice Store, the post office, the CEG Lockers, and the SWDP hotel floors. Desks, shelves, pinned notices and back rooms are the usual suspects.

How do you track them?

• The CRTV reacts near hidden items — sweep each room with it before leaving; see CRTV signals.
• On Hinted puzzle difficulty, collectible clue text is highlighted, which speeds up identification.
• Remember the golden rule: no backtracking. Check the walkthrough for each Part’s points of no return.
